Technology and Music

Hello Blog!!

Music has to be one of the best creations of all time.. It has been around for years and is still playas a major role in society. "USA Today" did an article that listed 20 surprising science hacks that listening to music benefits (http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/health/2013/12/17/health-benefits-music/4053401/). Just to name a few: music helps o reduce stress, enhances blood vessel function, it also helps people eat less, and etc. Music plays a big role in my life and many others as well. With music being so popular I feel that technology has became or ultimate access to music whenever we want. Technology like, laptops, cellphones, and mp3 player are just a few common devices that technology has provided us with the access to some of our favorite artist. When it comes my technological device preference I prefer to use my cell phone when it comes to listening to music. O prefer my cellular device because I Have complete access to other entertainment as well, while listening to music that I downloaded I also have the freedom to scroll through social media apps such as Facebook and Instagram. However I didn't use to always have the easy access I remember carrying around a Walkman (CD player) and struggling trying to fit it into my pocket or having to walk around with it in my hand because I didn't have any pockets. I carried around my Walkman during my 4th and 5th grade year of elementary school and even part of my 6th grade year of middle school then I switched over to a mp3 player and I had one all the way up until I was a JR in high school when I was able to purchase my first cellphone and still this day I have used my cellphone as my primary music device. When it comes to listening t music I listen to it everyday.. I use it when I'm driving, at home, and even as a pass time between classes. Its of great value to me.

Hello to all of my fellow Bloggers,

My name is Ashney Lawson and I am a Communications Major at the University of Louisville. I am in my Junior year, I plan to graduate in May of 2017. I decided to study communications because I plan to pursue a career as a Public Relations Specialist, Public relations refers to the practice of creating, promoting or maintaining  goodwill and favorable image among the public towards and institution, public body etc. Definition provided by  (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/public+relations). The core of this career stimulates from communication. This my first blog so I am very excited about it and will be focusing on Communication Technology. To speak on communication tech from my point of view I feel that it has been very important in numerous areas of our society today. It has allowed us open communication throughout the entire world and even with our own homes. I do find myself purchasing the latest Samsung brand Note Phones once a new one is released. I really enjoy various features that the phone has like Samsung pay, and the fingerprint recognition lock.

Since we will be talking about radio in our class I feel that it has been very crucial to the development of  Communication Technology with the main goal of reaching the masses.I use the radio to keep up with the latest music, as well as trending topics with celebrities or local stories that are going on here in Kentucky. I feel that the radio will never fully go away being that is the most owned in households today. It may tend to grow like SiriusXm, and Pandora on a larger scale but never go away completely, however speaking on the terms of AM and FM radio I do feel that it will continue to grow. In a recent report done by Nielsen, "that 63% of music fans say that traditional radio is their chief means of discovering new music." (Information provided by http://thenextweb.com/insider/2013/11/27/the-future-of-radio/). With this percentage I feel that radio has safe grounds and can only continue to grow in its own development.
